achieved one of my goals!

Posted 4 months ago by epersonae

On my ride home yesterday, my odometer rolled over to 1000 miles on the bike I got in February.

That's the most I've ever ridden in a single year, let alone 6 months. IIRC, when I took the cyclometer off of my old bike, it had about 800 miles on it starting April 2007. (Not to mention that I only learned how to ride a bike in June 2004.)

I sort of doubt I'll do another 1000 in the next 6 months, seeing as how that includes the dead of winter. But I'm going to keep riding as much as I can, as long as I can!

Congratulations indeed!

Here in Toronto, August 1st is pretty much the middle of the cycling season, actually. I thought you west coast folk were supposed to have better weather than us.. I guess it might already be rainy in October out there though?

Hmm... WeEndure says 998.89 miles :)

A journey of a thousand miles might begin with a single step, but iit appears to end with a sandwich in the park. Congrats, and here's to the next thou (and the next, and the next...).

Thanks guys!

@Chuckles: I think there's some early riding on this bike that didn't make it onto WeEndure (yep, nothing in February; I should probably import everything from my spreadsheet).

I'm sure I'll continue to get lots of riding all the way through October, but in mid-November it starts raining and doesn't much let up until April. And, you know, the dark. (Toronto's at about the same latitude, so you know what I mean.) But dammit, I'm going to try. Time to buy some serious rain gear, I guess.

@hangashore: I think I want to put that saying on a cross-stitch or something. :)
