So, I bit the bullet today and ran home from work on the Lower East Side. Walked over to the West Side Highway on Houston and ran from there. You come out right at where they teach the trapeze on the water's edge.

Started running at around 7pm and oh, boy, was it hot. Super hot. It's flat for pretty much the whole way up to 72nd street, and there's not much shade. So I cranked along as the sun went down right on me. It was a beautiful, fat, orange ball.

As painful and slow as the run was for the first 3 miles, once the sun went down it was so awesomely cool, I think I might run home more often. Either that, or run TO work. But then I'd run into the problem of than having to go to the gym near work to shower.

I probably shouldn't have run a 5 miler, since I have a 10k first thing in the morning, but bugger it. It's been a slack week because of how stupidly busy work is. Have to work this weekend too, which sucks. And Nike didn't bite on the interactive portion of what we pitched them last week, so that sucks too (budget issue). Oh well. Maybe next time.
