In order to fix my nike+ woes, i'm using a brand new sensor and receiver with my 3rd gen nano (which I swore I'd never take running). It didn't crap out once, but it obviously needs to be calibrated a bit. It's about 200 yards off, and I'm pretty sure I wasn't running just under 10 minute miles.

Wasn't supposed to run today, but the weather report said it was gonna be spectacular until the afternoon when a storm would blow its raggedy ass into town and the weather would be all downhill from there. ("Cold winter blast" coming on Tuesday apparently) So I grasped the day by the throat.

And it is (not for much longer) a spectacular day for running. Blue glassy skies, no wind, and just a clearness in the air that makes you glad to be alive. I actually overdressed, expecting it to be blowy. But it was still, calm and lovely. Unfortunately, a day like today means the Brooklyn Bridge is a bloody madhouse with tourists. Reminded me why I like to run it at 6am.

They (the tourists) mill about all over the bridge, 5 and 6 abreast. Not caring that there are two lanes for a reason and that some people actually live in this city. All they need to do is be aware of their surroundings, that's all I ask. But no, they step backwards into your path, or a bike's path, with a camera pressed on their face and don't care when you nearly break your neck avoiding a collision with either them, or the people they've forced you to run into.

Ok, whining over now.
