HILLS. Ran w/ Jon and Shane and Jonathon today - they made us work too hard. The hills were good but we ran a bit fast on the flats. I'll feel this tomorrow. Nonetheless, it was really fun.

Very happy w/ track workout with 3.25 mile warm-up at 8/mile. Then some cool-down laps at 8/mile

Just went out to see if I could figure out why my right leg was bugging me. The new shoes seem to have something to do with it. I'll try old shoes tomorrow morning and see if it settles out.

Got up really early and ran w/ the bright moon. Near the end of the run, the sun came up as a huge ball of red over the fresh cut rye fields. Temp. 55 - country smells were unbelievable. I got tired by the last two miles - more than I should have been. Hmmm...taking all that time off lately hasn't been as good for me as I'd hoped.

HILLS! Ran w/ Jon early this morning - started with a flat two miles and then charged up and down hills at a reasonably hard pace. Resumed an 8/mile pace on the flats and in between hills. 4 bigger hills (.2-.3 miles long) and 2 medium hills (same length but not as steep.) Seemed like a good workout - really fun in a perverted sort of way. Perfect morning - 52 degrees and a light, fresh breeze. Right ankle a bit tired by mile 8 - still not fully recovered from SOB.

Ran easy w/ Erik this a.m. Felt good. Had a bit of trouble keeping the pace down (until the last couple of miles). The bark path was definitely welcomed by my joints although working in the woods yesterday and today is harder on my knees than anything.

I hoped to have a bit more umph this morning but I was feeling fatigue and a bit of joint soreness so took it easy. Working in the woods after the jog - nice to be out and smelling forest smells. I realize that my job causes me to have tender paws - 3 blisters in 1 hour - my ancestors would be so ashamed.

Recovery run - my quads were fairly tight at the beginning but not sore. Legs relaxed as I went. It was pretty hot but still kind of fun to get out. It will be fun to see how or if this helps the DOMS I anticipate in my lower quads (no real soreness today - stairs are no problem etc.) but they have kind of a "bruised" feeling when poked.
