Ok, Gman is the man today!
Alarm buzzed at 6am and I rolled over until 9. I kept staring at the rain out the window, then at the trainer, back and forth. Today I would've done anything not to bore on the stupid trainer so I snagged my jacket and wool socks and headed out.
I'm wet now.
I was worried about soggy bottom but my feet were worse off. Should've wrapped 'em in plastic grocery bags....
Temp 20min HR avg: 158bpm. (154-158bpm zone) The tempo run I chose River Rd. - have to make it through 3 lights. The first one was red. The guy turning left didn't appreciate me.
Cheers - it's pasta time.

Nice ride! Three hours in the rain and cold is no small feat. Congrats!
I can recommend a few things in order to do "the rain dance" properly.
1) A pair of SKS Race Blade fenders. They go on and off in about 5 minutes and fit any bike. They keep the water off your back side and off your feet.
2) A GoreTex helmet cover and a cycling cap. Keeps the water off your head and out of your eyes.
3) Waterproof booties. Louis Garneau makes a good pair that I have. My feet stay dry.
4) A rain jacket. It doesn't have to be fancy. I use one of those clear plastic ones that are around $20
Total investment: Less than $150 and it is remarkable how dry you stay, even in a down pour.
There is a hidden benefit in these types of rides too that it conditions your body for suffering. ;-)
