The weather report looks fantastic for the Woodside Ultra
I'm so bummed that I didn't sign up for the ultra. I considered it and reconsidered it.... Did you do the 10k as planned? How did folks feel about the 50K? Is this something you would recommend for next year? I'm really jealous! ldr

Hi Lonn --

I did the 17km, and it was a lot of fun. The weather was nearly perfect, though there were some pockets near the beginning holding onto some extremely cold air. No grand vistas, but well maintained trails through the redwoods, staying under the canopy. I'm told the longer runs are beautiful; the organizers claimed at the start that it is probably their easiest 50km course. The event is well run and well marked. I'd definitely do it again, and maybe the 35km, which doesn't add many hills. I don't think I'll be ready for the hills of Wunderlich park for a while!

Cheers,
Steve

Now I'm even more jealous than I was. When I was seriously looking at the run a few weeks ago, it was pouring down rain up here and that was all I could imagine. It is my hope to be healthy enough next year at this time to do the run. Great job - that is a great time for a trail run - especially with that much vertical in 11 miles.
