Day 5, our short day, only 44 miles but still a rather hilly day. It is also Red Dress Day, so lot's of fun, I even dressed in a red tutu this year, Ron took the prize though with his crab outfit (of our group anyway.)

Today we go around Vandeberg AFB on the way to Lompoc. While there are three climbs today, the first one isn't until mile 16, the second one is at mile 21, each of these is about a mile and a half. The rough one though is at mile 29, where we turn onto Highway 1 and begin a climb of lesser distance, but it seems steeper. The LAGL board van is at the top at Firefighter Road with M&Ms, Red Vines and goodies!

Lunch is just on the outskirts of town, to delay our arrival in camp. A number of us hung out there, but then rode directly in to Lompoc looking for a burger place Roger remembered from one of his earlier rides. We found out that it was now closed, but got sent to Tom's Burgers, and they set up a table & chairs outside for us and just treated us wonderfully! Hmm, burger and fries today and tomorrow is In-N-Out in Ventura...
