Alton Baker Loop- Distance 11.05 miles
- Time 01:23:14
- Average Speed 7.97 mph
- Average Pace 7:31 min/mile
After a dissapointing 22 miles yesterday, I woke up feeling pretty good this morning and instead of resting, decided to run in my new flats. I thought I'd go out slow, pick up the pace but keep the miles short. I felt good. I picked it up. Averaged 7:30's through 6.4 miles and 7:33's through 8.5 miles. Not sure why I didn't run better yesterday, but I went to sleep at 830pm last night after a big steak, potato, green been and salad dinner. Well, that is probably more than the world needs to know... Felt good today. Light rain, 52F - felt nice outside.

oh no, it's ok. let's talk about food. i mean, the Scott Jurek crowd says you have to be vegetarian to run well, and the beer drinkers believe in their magic elixir, while the RW group is always talking 4:1 ratio carbs/protein, and Karl Meltzer insists it's all B.S.
so eat steak and sleep, and well, whatever else you do . . .
i recover with coffee and after 20 miles (or more) i simply eat everything i can find for at least 24 hours, i particularly think peanut butter is the world's greatest invention, i eat it by the bowl full
then i ride my bike, lift weights, and take the wife hiking/trail maintaining and eat some more trying to out perform Michael Phelps 13,000 KCAL/day
yet i'm a scrawny 136 pounds with a sparkling cholesterol panel
oh yeah, lets talk eating
of course i'm too manic to sleep and i'll stop there since the world doesn't need to hear the rest
too much fun!
