The Showers Pass rain jacket is not, in fact, impervious to water. Both arms wet at the inside of the elbow after 10 minutes in pretty heavy rain.

You should call up the Showers Pass folks. That is unacceptable and probably a defect! I've had no problems with rain getting into my jacket and I have spent a good 45-50 minutes in solid downpours. Codar called Showers Pass the other day because his jacket waterproofing was wearing out in the arms, and that was after a year of biking to and from Vancouver every day. Seriously, that's not how it should work. Anyway, his customer service experience with Showers Pass was exemplary and I say you should put them to the test. They will probably comp you.
I should probably add that mine is the Elite (last year's) with the eVent fabric. I think Codar had the Century from a year ago (he replaced it with the Elite 2.0 when Showers Pass gave him a good discount on one).
